Budapest

Budapest is not only Hungary’s capital city but also the largest with a population of roughly 2,000,000 people. It is the centre point of Hungary for many different things like culture, politics, commercial business, industry and transport. It is situated on either side of the river Danube, which can look quite beautiful at night. Considered by many as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, you will find that there are many places of interest here for you to visit.

Buda Castle is one of the places that would be considered a must see while on a trip to Budapest. It is full of history and a great place to visit, if not only for its sheer beauty. Another thing Budapest is famous for is its churches, such as the Basilica of St Stephen. This cathedral took 50 years to build mostly because of the collapsing of the dome because of storm. It was eventually completed in the year 1905. There a guided tours in English daily and are full of the history of the cathedral.

The Chain Bridge or Széchenyi lánchíd named after count Széchenyi who was the one who started to build the bridge. He then passed the project over to Tierney Clark and Adam Clark who had experience in the building bridges on the River Thames previous to that.
