Nyíregyháza

You will find this city in Eastern Hungary and is one of the most important cities in the region. It is mostly visited by American or British tourists, but also Ukrainian, German, Romanian, Polish and even Hungarian visitors can be found there. The city can be reached by train from the country’s capital, Budapest, in roughly 3 hours making it an easy place to go visit for a day if people are spending a number of days in the capital.

Something that you will want to see is the Mihaly Vaci Cultural Centre. This was built supposedly with the Japanese metabolism in mind and is very strange looking indeed. It's not so much of a historical structure as it was built in 1981 but should be visited due to its bizarre nature.
The Andras Jose Museum is another place that is worth a look. It is a massive museum which holds artifacts from the history of the city that date back to the middle ages. It can be located south of the city centre.

There are a number of churches that you can visit, a Greek Catholic church being one of them. This church was built in 1895 and can be seen in Bethlen Gabor.
