Tatabánya

This city is well situated in Hungary in the northwestern region of Central Transdanubian. The city comfortably sits between the mountains of Geresce and Vertes in a valley that is quite beautiful. The city is a junction for both roadways and railway systems because of its location. It is in direct line with Vienna and Budapest. It is thought that people have been living in the city since the stone-age.

The Turul monument, which is a symbol of the city, can be found at the top of Geresce Mountain. It is the biggest statue of a bird in the whole of central Europe. The bird is a representation of God's messenger to the Maygars which is the Hungarian people. The bird dates back to the 9th century and you can make an adventure of your trip and do some climbing to go see it.

Also, there are many villages nearby, with Tata being one of them. Tata has a castle that was built at the beginning of the 1800s by the descendants of the Walachian Dracul family.1978 saw the changing of ownership of the castle when Tibiya Adersefski was found to be the inheritor of the castle. The castle is built of marble from Ukraine and granite from Romania.
